The long-term (28 years) and intensive N fertilization of a pasture caused its degradation expressed by yield decrease deterioration and simplification of botanical and chemical composition of sward and by the soil acidification. Under these conditions, the renovation with the use of seeding method can not be successful and is too expensive, it was thus decided to improve the pasture by complementary fertilization with compost manure, Ca, Mg and Na with the basic NPK fertilization. Results confirmed the correct choice of renovation method because after 3 years period the yields increased (even by 77 depending on the level of N fertilization). The sod formation improved significantly (by nearly 12) and the content of Ca, Mg and Na in feed increased. The supplement fertilization did not influence the protein, fiber and energy (MJ NEL) content
