Variability of cutting forces and stresses of maize cob cores

Cutting forces and stresses of maize cob cores were determined during quasi-static cutting of Kb 270 hybrid maize cobs. The cutting forces and stresses were tested as depended on the changes in moisture content and cutting place along cob length. The results were statistically analysed and presented in graphic form. At the moisture contents below 40% the force and stress of cutting cob core significantly increased
