Three-year study concerned the effect of different doses of nitrogen fertilizers on the concentration of nitrogen in apples, the accummulation of various mineral constituents in fruit, and the health of yields. In the first and third experimental year, the concentration of nitrogen significantly increased with doses of 60 and 120 kg N/ha. In the second year, this effect was only obtained with the higher dose. The concentration of calcium was not uniform and depended on the year of observation. Increasing doses of nitrogen significantly reduced the content of phosphorus particularly in the 1st and 2nd year. The coefficient of linear correlation "r" between the incidence of bitter pit and K:Ca and N:Ca ratios was positive and highly significant
