State and development trends in technique and technology of green crops harvesting and conservation

Paper presented the acreage structure of green crops either, short- and long-stemmy field crops and permanent grassland in Poland. Basic technologies of green crop conservation were also discussed in prognostic aspect until 2000. As a result of testing different assemblies for mechanical swath treatment,the most useful solutions - in respect of working quality - were chosen. Recent trends in designing and construction of such assemblies were indicated too. Locally manufactured machines for green crop harvesting were described inclusive their operation characteristics
