The main objectives of the mathematical model of sabkhet al-Mouh Basin are to study the basin's water balance, and the impact of groundwater exploitation on the groundwater flow system in the future. The model was established according to the available information fron the previous studies and hydrogeological investigations which were carried out by GCHS based in Homs. This report includes a brief summary of the geological and hydrogeological conditions of the area. A description of the conceptual hydrogeological model has been presented. A study of the water balance for the whole basin and for the proposed exploited areas has been conducted, and prospects of developing the available water resources were made in light of the proposed exploitation plan.
