Ecological and economical aspects of the land evaluation on the regional level

The objective of this reasearch is the soil and land productivity evaluation for the consequent sustainable land use modeling in different site conditions. The regional specifics of the agricultural land potential are interpreted in the Pedo-ecological Units System structure on the level Pedo-ecological Areas (PEO), Pedo-ecological Sub-areas (PEPO) and Regions (PER). Based on the real land use data and typological productivity categories maps comparison is resulting that the present land use structure in several regions of Slovakia, is not in direct correlation with the productivity potential of the territorial wholes. Therefore on the first step of the harmonisation among the ecological factors and human demands is inevitable land use restructuralization, as is indicated in Table 3 and Table 4.
