In the paper we investigate an ability of the micronivelation method for soil erosion intensity measurement in hilly regions with silage maize and spring barley crops during two vegetation periods. The measurements were done with an accuracy of 0.5 mm after every rainfall causing surface run-off. The results of fied measurement were compared with the results caculated according to Wischmeier-Smith equation. It was found that the micronivelation method used for soil erosion intensity assessment is limited by problems of microtopography level changes due to settling of soil and decreasing soil moisture content during crop development. This method may be applied only to high intensity of erosion (over 15t/ha)
