Transformation proces and economy of agricultural enterprises in the Slovak Republic

The paper deals with the analysis of creating the new entrepreneurial structure in the Slovak agriculture as well as economic and financial situation of agricultural enterprises over 1995-1996. The transformation in agricultural sector is in addition to positive results such as improving ownership structure, achieving the balance between supply and demand, etc., is connected with problems of economy and financing of the agricultural enterprises. The results of the analysis have confirmed not only the exacting characters of the business environment in the agriculture, but also a gradual improvement of the economic and financial problems of the agricultural enterprises. It is confirmed namely by the growth of the profit agricultural subjects in all types of enterprises, by the growth of productivity labour as well as by the growth of the efficiency of agricultural enterprises namely within the trade companies and private smallholders
