Effect of planting date and plant density on quality and productivity of creat (Andrographis paniculata Wall. ex Nees)
1996
Huttaya Promto
Creat was grown in June, September, December 1993 and March 1994, at five spacings: 20*40, 25*40, 30*40, 35*40 and 40*40 centimetres. The experiment was conducted at Kasetsart University, Kamphaengsaen Campus, Nakorn-pathom. Creat grown in June resulted in the greatest plant's height (58.09 cm), plant's diameter (48.47 cm), fresh weight of the arial part (1.44 kg/square m), dry weight of the arial part (0.54 kg/square m), average dry weight of stems and branches per plant (41.47 g/plant), average dry weight of leaves per plant (32.60 g/plant) and more number of days to 50 percent flowering (148.7 days). Creat grown in June gave the highest total lactone content (14.09 g/square m). Wider spacings decrease fresh and dry weight per unit area of arial part, but increase average dry weight of stems and branches per plant and dry weight of leaves per plant.
