Comparison on growth and yield of super sweet corn 4 varieties

Growth and yield of super sweet corn in 4 different varieties; Super Sweet ThaiDMR no. 1,Un-2X9, Un-2X39 and 9X15, were studied at Rajamangala Institue of Technology, Nan Campus. The experiment was carried out from July to October 1993. The results showed that Super Sweet Thai DMR no. 1 obtained the highest yield in both fresh and peeled yield 2,247.20 kg/rai and 1,428.88 kg/rai, respectively. The lowest height, Un-2X9, was 155.80 cm Super Sweet Thai DJR no.1,. The 50 percent of flowering time in Un-2X9 was 42 days. The highest number of leave per stem appeared and leaves above pod appeared to be in Super Sweet Thai DMR, 12 leaves/stem. 12 and 6, respectively, The number of pod per stem of Un-2X9, Un-2X39 and 9X15 were three and the shortest harvesting time of them were 62 days. The consumer's acceptances were also investigated. Super Sweet Thai DMR no.1 obtained the highest score in color, 6.30, Un-2X39 got the highest score in sweetness 6.95.Un-2X9 got the highest score in stickyness. However, Un-2X39 obtained the highest score in total acceptance, 6.85.
