In this thesis, possibilities of usage of some vegetable oils besides oils from various sea-animals and especially cod-liver oil in tanning for usually production of chamois leather have been studied. Especially cotton seed oil, olive oil, sunflower oil, soybean oil and linseed oil which are produced in Turkey have been considered. A series of pre-trials by using the talked about oils individually in tanning have been made and various tanning combinations have been applied by using mostly the oils which have shown good tanning properties, considering these results
