Two hundred grames of fresh leaves of holy brasil; (Ocimum sanctum Linn.), Sugar apple (Annona squamosa) and lemongrass (Cymbopogen citratus) were used per hen to control lice and mites of laying hens. The design is completely randomized with 4 treatments, each of 4 replications and each replication had 4 hens. Sixty-four laying hens were used. The population of lice and mites in laying hens in herbal batches were lower than in the control batch. There was no statistical difference of number of lice and with the different herbal varieties. Lemongrass was effective for mites but was not for lice. On the other hand holy brasil was effective in lice but it was not for mites. Sugar apple was effective for controlling. Both ectoparasites in laying hens.
