Expression and allelic variability of high Mr glutenin subunits in Triticum monococcum

The high Mr glutenin subunit composition was analysed by the method of sodium dodecyl sulphate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE) in fifteen accessions of Triticum monococcum. Six alleles at Glu-Asup(m)1 expressing four x and three y type subunits were scored. Silencing of a x or y type gene was found in two alleles. Intra-accession variability was found in five accessions.
