From the point of view of occupational health physician, the most important metals - environmental pollutants are mercury, lead, cadmium, chromium etc. In the area of the Velika Morava river, Serbia (Yugoslavia) many industrial plants, mines, smelters and factories could be the source of water and environmental pollution with heavy metals.
