Vranac is the old cultivar of Yugoslav red wine, with good productivity, but weak resistance on Botrytis cinerea and low winter temperature. With purpose of producing cultivar type Vranac with improved resistance on Botrytis cinerea and low winter temperature hybridization of Vranac x B-7-2 has been done as well as reciprocal hybridization B-7-2 x Vranac. Interspecies hybrid B-7-2 (V. riparia x Gamay) x (Fosters white seedling x Macoccaninen noir x Chasselas) has the quality of extensive resistance on Botrytis cinerea and low winter temperature. In the each of these hybridization has been produced 100 seedlings which grew on their owen root. In few year investigations it has been examining their fruitfulness, the quality and resistance on Botrytis cinerea and low winter temperature. From this population seedlings, which have average yield over 1.0-1.8 kg/square m, 13% of these seedlings had higher content of sugar in must than their parents. The research of the resistance on Botrytis cinerea and low winter temperature (in vitro) has shown that 70% seedlings have better resistance than interspecies hybrid B-7-2. These seedlings will be multiplied with purpose of further examination in different ecological conditions.
