Effects of nutritive elements on soybean plant morphology and yield

Effects of boron, manganese, molybdenum, zinc and major nutritive elements (nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium) on soybean plant morphology and grain yield were investigated on semi-gley soil type. The soil was naturally moderately supplied with major nutritive elements. Manganese supply in soil was good, molybdenum moderate but poor in accessible boron and zinc. The trace nutritive elements were applied by dipping the soybean seed into trace nutritive element solution before planting. The results showed that trace nutritive elements significantly affected grain yield, plant height and the lowest pod position on stem. Number of pods per plant was not significantly affected by applied trace elements. The cultivars in the investigation differently responded to applied NPK nutrients - Hadley had higher than Aura in all variants of applied fertilizers except boron.
