When designing a new, or operating and reconstructing an existing process or plant, one must estimate the possible inherent threats to the environment and the measures for their control or elimination. The aim of the paper is to present some of the experiences from the application of rigid legal regulations on environmental protection referring to fuel consumption in commertial source performance.
