Investigation of 34 introduction white wine varieties were carried out at the "Radmilovac" ampelographic collection, Faculty of Agriculture, Belgrade - Zemun (Yugoslavia). The planting is situated in the Grocka grape-growing district. All cultivars were grafted on Berlandieri-Riparia Kobet 5 BB rootstock and planted in 1960 on the S-W oriented slope, with the regular arrangement of vines 3x0.75 m. The training system is of cordon type and mixed-type pruning is practiced. The interval of variation for a three-year study period ranged, on average, as follows: fertil shoot 43.94-65.70%; potential of fertility 0.57-1.42; mean cluster weight from 64-239 g; grape yield from 7.58-23.59 t/ha; content of sugar from 15.4-23.0% and content of total acids from 6.4-9.2 g/l. Considering the results achieved, 11 cultivars, being the most favourable, are recommended from production: Muscat Ottonel, Chardonnay, Pinot blanc with large cluster, Pinot blanc, Sauvignon, Semillion, Riesling italico, Furmint feher, Traminer white, Mueller-Thurgau and Ugni Blanc.
