Ecological status of the Lim river [Montenegro, Yugoslavia]: [a continuation of the paper]

The Lim river is one of the most important rivers in Yugoslavia. Until recently it was polluted by the wastes from the sulphate cellulose, near the town of Berane (Montenegro, Yugoslavia). However, that factory does not work any more. As the results of that, in a relatively short period of time, the Lim river has become clean river. This river is a tributary of the Drina river. It has been planned to use the water from the Lim river for the water supply of the population. Therefore, the Lim river should be adequately protected against pollution. The paper presents the situation nowadays. It also deals with the most serious causes of pollution and suggests the measures that are to be taken to keep the Lim river in an ecologically acceptable condition. The most important factors of the risk have been analyzed here and it is suggested how to control them.
