1999
Penchev, P. (Buffalo Institute with Biotechnology Center, Shoumen (Bulgaria))
The present study comprises 4269 buffalo cows from the new breed at first lactation, 3182 - at second and 9206 - at third and more lactations.2556 dam-daughter pairs have been used to evaluate the genetic relationship between milk yield and milk fat percentage. The established correlation coefficients were comparatively low and negative between the traits milk yield and fat percentage, low and positive between milk yield and butter yield - all significant at P0.001.The fenotypic dependence of the milk production traits on the age of first calving have been evaluated to be very low and insignificant.
