Response of spinach to nitrogen source and fertilizer rates

The increases of frtilizer rate, over 560 mg/kg soil resulted reduction of fresh and dry biomass and plastid pigment content independently of the nitrogen source, but better adaptability to nitrate as N-source for spinach was confirmed. Leaf nitrate concentration above the acceptable limit one was observed in the presence of the NH4NO3 at concentrations that suppressed plant biomass accumulation.
