Cytological and microbiological investigations on goat milk during the lactation period

Clinical health status, somatic cell count and microbial cell content in milk of 16 lactating goats were determined monthly for 6 months. The dynamics of the somatic cell count was established and S. aureus, S. epidermidis, C. pyogenes were isolated. The significance of the microorganisms for the health status of the goat udder is discussed.
