Reliable disctinctions of habitual indexes of Eulamellibranchia from Danube river waters by different hydrocarbonic pollution levels were discovered. It has been established that increasing of the pollution level of the examined region was accompanied by decreasing of the content of carothenoids and lipids in moluscs gills. Reducing specific surface (So) and number of gills filaments is increasing. Lowering of physiological parameters is compensate by increasing of So. Thus, reducing specific surface and number of gills filaments can be used for bioindication of fresh water environment
