In the comparative studies are described the sensitivity and resistance of colienteropathogens to antibiotics and the spread of strains with resistance determinants, isolated from small (1995-97) and large scale pig farms (1972-75). The results of the comparative study of sensitivity to antimicrobials of isolates were generally similar among isolates from small and large scale farms. The resistance to antibiotics was lower in isolates from the small scale farms than from the large farms by 22.1 per cent. Also the level of multiresistance to antimicrobials among isolates from the small scale farms was lower by 39.5 per cent. Among resistant isolates from the large scale farm more than 10 per cent possessed transmissive R-factors: to Tc 26.5 per cent, to Am 16.1 per cent and to Mn 11.2 per cent. The resistant isolates from the small scale farms possessed less than 4.5 per cent R-factors
