The major objectives of the study were to analyze the problems of declining soil fertility in Ada'aa Bargaa district from a dynamic perspectives to further understand its cause-effect relationships and to identify opportunities for research and development efforts using a system oriented, integrated and participatory approach. The major actors of the Agricultural knowledge and information system in the Ada'aa Bargaa district comprise of farmers, traders, administrative bodies, and different institutions involved in training, research and extension activities. These actors involve in one or more of interrelated tasks and apparently each having their own role and contributions towards solving the problem of declining soil fertility in the district. Bureau of Agriculture (BoA) works closely with farmers rendering the services of agricltural input supply and also coordinate many developmental works in the area. Likewise, the service cooperative is becoming a strong support system to farmers in facilitating supply of fertilizer, organize sell of their produces and also undertake some developmental works. The current linkage among parallel institutions like research, training, input suppliers, NGOs, etc. is weak and need to be strengthened for efficient resource utilization and better contribution for the area's overall development.
