Metabolizabled protein is the sum of microbial and bypass (UDP) true protein truly digested in the small intestine. For the efficiencies of utilization of MF for milk, growth, pregnancy and wool production, 0,65; 0.50; 0.50 and 0.40 respectively. MF requirements for maintance are considered to be 3.41 W for cattle and 2.60 W for sheep. The net protein requirement is equal to the protein content of the product. Each feed has two protein values (MFE, MFN), both including digestible UDP and digested true microbial protein predicted either from microbial energy supply (FOM) of from available degradable protein (RDP).
