Use of bypass protein and bypass fat in feeding high-yielding dairy cows
1999
Sipocz, J. | Sipocz, p.
The authors examined the effect of bypass fat and bypass protein products on rumen fermentation in rumen-fistulated cows. They established that while the supplementation of normal fat in low rations adversely influenced the rumen fermentation, the supplementation of Ca-soap even in high rations did not reduce the production of volatile fatty acids in the rumen and did not decrease the ratio of acetic acid and propionic acid. Supplements of bypass fat and bypass protein significantly increased the milk production of Holstein Friesian cows as well as the quantity of fat and protein produced in milk.
