Relationship between somatic cell number and different components in cow milk
1999
Gere, T. | Pettner, k. | Toth, S. | Amin, A.
In a well-managed Hungarian large dairy farm (178 sires, 1601 cows) 130,920 different milking data were processed to study the correlation between the somatic cell number in milk and the disease of cows' udders: mastitis, and to study the genetic-environmental conditions taking part in the development of this disease. The data processing involved the number of somatic cells, fat and protein content (g and %) in milk, the effect of two or three milking times per day and the effect of morning or evening milking on the cell content of milk.
