Among the factors which influence successful potato production, the incidence rate of swarming aphid species and the number of individual aphids feeding on the plants were regularly surveyed in Mosonmagyarovar between 1982 and 1998. Swarming studies carried out using yellow dish traps over the seventeen-year period demonstrated that with the exception of a few dry years, flying aphids were to be found throughout the vegetation period.
