Use of principal component analysis in correlation studies between kernel hardness and other breadmaking quality traits in winter aestivum and durum wheat genotypes

Varieties and breeding lines of common wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) and durum (T. durum Desf.) wheat included in the Martonvasar breeding programme were examined using a Single Kernel Characterization System 4100 instrument to determine the correlation between the kernel hardness index and other technological quality traits. It can be seen from the results that the majority of common wheat varieties and lines belong to the hard-grained type and only a few have soft grains.
