The use of preserved and vitamin B12 enriched Nannochloropsis oculata for rotifer culture

英语. This experiment was conducted to find out the effect of preserved and vitamin B12 enriched Nannochloropsis oculata as feed on the population growth of rotifer, Brachionus plicatilis. Three treated phytoplankton fed to rotifer were: (A) Chilled N. oculata; B) Frozen N. oculata and C) Vitamin B12 enriched frozen N. oculata. Each treatment was applied in three replicates. The population growth of rotifer of the three treatment after 66 hours were not significantly different (P0.05). However, the use of vitamin B12 enriched frozen N. oculata was able to gain longer culture time age and higher density of the rotifer

Percobaan ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian Nannochloropsis oculata yang dipekatkan kemudian disimpan dalam bentuk dingin dan beku serta telah diperkaya dengan vitamin B12 terhadap pertumbuhan populasi rotifer, Brachionus plicatilis. Perlakuan yang dikenakan adalah pemberian pakan rotifer dengan: A) N.oculata dingin; B) N. oculata beku dan C) N. oculata beku yang diperkaya vitamin B12. Masing-masing perlakuan mempunyai tiga ulangan. Pertumbuhan populasi rotifer hingga 66 jam dari ketiga perlakuan tidak menunjukkan perbedaan yang nyata (P0,05), tetapi pemberian N. oculata beku yang diperkaya dengan vitamin B12 dapat memperpanjang umur kultur rotifer dan menambah kepadatan rotifer
