The Influence of gamma rays irradiation on chlorophyll mutation and genetic variability of agronomic characters in soybean plant

英语. Seeds of soybean mutant line No. 13/PsJ with 12 percent moisture content were irradiated by 0,10; 0,20; 0,30 and 0,40 kGy of gamma rays treatment. Number of irradiated seeds for each treatment was 1500 seeds. Irradiated of seeds were planted in the 4m x 5m plot size with 0,20m x 0,40m spacing and two seeds each hole and were planted as M-1 plants in the wet season of 1996/1997 at PAIR field experiment in Pasar Jumat, Jakarta. The experiment was designed Randomized Block Design with three replications. Plants of M-1 generation were harvested individually and were planted as known M-2 plants in the next generation in dry season of 1997 at PAIR field experiment. Seven days after planting the chlorophyll mutation of plants were recorded by Frydenberg method and the genetic variability of plant height, number of fertile pods and nodes were calculated by Singh and Chaudhary formula. Result of the experiment showed that chlorophyll mutation and genetic variability of plant height and number of fertile pods could be improved 0,10 and 0,20 kGy of gamma rays treatment

Benih galur mutan kedelai No. 13/PsJ dengan kadar air 12 persen diiradiasi sinar gamma dengan dosis 0,10; 0,20; 0,30 dan 0,40 kGy masing-masing sebanyak 1500 butir setiap dosis. Benih yang telah diiradiasi ditanam pada petak berukuran 4m x 5m, dengan jarak tanam 0,20 m x 0,40 m, dua butir perlubang dan ditanam sebagai tanaman M-1 pada musim hujan MH 1996/1997 di Kebun Percobaan PAIR, Pasar Jumat, Jakarta. Percobaan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok dengan tiga ulangan. Tanaman M-1 dipanen secara individu dan ditanam sebagai tanaman M-2 pada musim kemarau MK 1997 di Kebun Percobaan PAIR Pasar Jumat, Jakarta. Tujuh hari setelah tanam, mutasi klorofil yang terjadi pada tanaman dari masing-masing dosis iradiasi diamati dengan metode Frydenberg dan variasi genetik pada tinggi tanaman, jumlah buku subur dan jumlah polong isi dihitung menurut rumus Singh dan Chaudhary. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mutasi klorofil dan variasi genetik tinggi tanaman dan jumlah polong isi dapat ditingkatkan dengan dosis 0,10 dan 0,20 kGy
