Laboratory tests were carried out at the Kaltinenai Research Station of the Lithuanian Institute of Agriculture and at the Institute of Soil Science and Plant production in Pulawy (Poland). The following humic materials were isolated from the soil samples: humic acid, ulmic acid, lignofulvonovic acid, fulvanovic acid, fulvenovic and fulvinovic acids by the method suggested by Williams
