[The descent influence of Estonian Red bulls on their breeding value]

The present research has been carried out to study the influence of birth place, birth year and bull father on the breeding value of the Estonian Red breed bulls. The different breeds of bulls used in breeding the Estonian Red breed are described. The material was obtained from the Agricultural Registers and Information Centre where bulls were estimated using BLUP Animal Model. The breeding value of bulls born in Estonia was compared with that of bulls born abroad. The resulting data are presented in tables.
