Issues of rural integration

The multilateral problems and aspects of the integrated rural development are discussed in this paper. Main attention is focussed on two issues: 1) integration of rural development into Latvian national economy; 2) integration of Latvian rural economy into the Baltic economic area and into the European Union in its broadest sense. The scope of these issues is a basis of this article for the evaluation of factors affecting the formulation of the rural development strategy.
