A total of 180 day-old straight run broiler chicks were fed different treatments containing different levels of SFM [sunflower seed meal]. Treatment 1 was the control (i.e. without SFM) while treatments 2 to 5 contained 10, 15, 20, and 30 percent SFM. All substitutions were in protein equivalent basis. Broilers fed diets with sunflower seed meal up to 30 percent performed equally well as those fed with corn-soya diet. Average body weights, body weight gain, feed consumption, and feed efficiency were not significantly different among treatments. Dressing percentage, lean fat, bone yield, and sensory scores on flavor, color, tenderness, juiciness, off-flavor and general acceptability were likewise not significantly different. Higher income over feed and chick cost was generated from broilers fed diets with SFM relative to those fed corn-soya diets. SFM can substitute soybean meal up to 30 percent protein equivalent without significantly affecting the performance and carcass quality of the broilers
