The Philippines is exporting foliage plants and one of the highest in demand by importing countries is Dracaena marginata Lam. (family Agavaceae) `Ivory'. They are usually shipped as rooted stem cuttings and for an exporter, the rate of root formation and quality of roots are of prime importance in the production system. Propagation of D. marginata Lam. `Ivory' using stem cuttings as affected by various rooting hormone preparation was studied. Three hundred sixty stem cuttings were treated with 1000, 1500 and 2000 ppm powder preparations of IBA, Unigreen preparation and a commercial brand Hormex. Among treatments, stem cuttings from the control gave the highest percent rooting (100.0%) followed by those treated with 1000 ppm IBA. The least percent rooting was observed with 1500 ppm IBA and Unigreen preparation, both giving 11.7 percent. The commercially prepared Horme, on the other hand, gave 20.0 percent rooting
