Lincoln Index Capture-Recapture Method of estimating population parameters was evaluated at the Horseshoe Bend Experimental Area, Department of Entomology, University of Georgia, Athens, Georgia, USA; using 4 pens and 16 pitfalls with the known population of crickets Acheta domesticus (Linnaeus). The ratio of the Lincoln Index with known population to that of estimated population was 3.03: 2.38. This variation was attributed to environmental factors (rain, sunshine and vegetation) which influenced the movement of crickets to the traps and also affected the catch quantitatively.
