Utilization of sewage sludge in reclamation of post-mining soils and ash disposal sites

Sludge samples obtained from 3 sewage treatment plants of Konin brown coal mine showed variable chemical composition. Dry matter content was 10-15% while the nitrogen and phosphorus contents ranged within 0.1-6.3 and 0.5-1.8%, respectively. Heavy metal concentration did not exceed admissible limits. Coli-form count was considerably higher than permissible values. However, bacterial contamination should not prevent the sludge from being used in reclamation of post-mining soils and ash disposal sites
