[Risk of fusariosis in the early sowing of chickpeas]
1998
Carvalho, M.T. | Goncalves, M.J.
In a chickpea field trial, located at Moura (Southeast of Portugal) and sown during Autumn of 1993 for evaluation of resistance to Ascochyta rabiei, an extraordinary attack caused by different species of generum Fusarium was detected. Thirty chickpea lines, selected in advance by ICARDA (Syria) as highly tolerant to Fusarium wilt, were tested next Autumn (1994) at the same location (spontaneous infected soil) to analyse their behaviour as regards resistance to the Fusarium complex. Most of the tested chickpea lines showed to be susceptible to Fasarium wilt and only seven genotypes showed to have resistant type reactions. From these seven selected genotypes, one showed to be resistant (R) and the others six were moderately resistant (MR)
