The samples derived from sewage treatment plant former Poznan Region. Heavy metals were found to reveal broad range in content, very often in amounts, which exceeded the permission standards of heavy metals contamination. The different strength of bonds is characteristic for heavy metals exist in sludges. Beside heavy metals, sludges are source of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons
