In this article, carried out in two olive's plot from "Tierra de Bastos" (Extremadura-Spain), the cicadas predominant species was Cicada barbara (Stal.), the Barbary or Maghreb cicada. Adults emergence took place between June 20 and August 20. The oviposition began July 11, coinciding with the maximum emergence and ended August 28. Hatching did not begin until September 26, when the first autumn rains occurred and lasted for almost two months. Natural mortality was very high. In order to lessen the biggest damage produced by the oviposition, several orientations are given, based on the previous data
