Dried milk culture with the content of active microflora higher than 10**6, consisting of the genera Bifidobacterium and Lactobacillus, was fed to calves of Black Pied breed in the period of 2nd to 13th week of age. The calves were housed and fed individually. Their average daily live weight gain was 0,746 kg, the control group achieved 0.708 kg (5.4% difference). The differences in daily live weight gains of calves were not statistically significant on average for the whole period. Feeding the tested preparation to calves had no negative effect on their state of health. We observed statistically highly significant difference in the consumption of milk feed mixture - MKZ (53.68 kg), additive feed mixture TKS (55.78 kg) and lucerne hay (70.24 kg) in the experimental group for the whole studied period compared with the calves of control group (MKZ 62.43 kg, TKS 46.70 kg, lucerne hay 56.74 kg)
