Balance of soil organic matter in different farming systems

Integrated and ecological arable farming systems were established on loamy Orthic Luvisol in Research Station of SAU Nitra, locality Dolna Malanta in 1990. The chemical inputs in integrated systems were in ecological one replaced by multifunctional crop rotation, ecological plant nutrition, mechanical and physical weed control. A simple model for soil organic carbon balance in mentioned farming systems was proposed. The results obtained by the model were satisfied in comparison with field data. Content and quality of soil organic matter was determined higher in ecological farming system
