Price development analysis at individual levels of the food vertical in SR

The study gives the price development analysis in separate links of food vertical and their cross-links during the year 1998 and during the first half year 1999. The basis for this study was the Slovak statistical information on prices and data from Eurostat. The analysis shows that the price development on the Slovak agrarian market was during the searched period characterised by the opening the price scissors in the whole vertical of food production and food consumption. For the first time since the price liberation the inter-year price decline of agricultural products has been met on which the crop products had the biggest share. Comparing with the neighbouring countries our prices of majority agricultural products were lowest in the year 1998
