From the evaluation of economical results of subjects in agriculture, agricultural services and food industry which is presented in the study explicitly implies that the economical development in the year 1998 acquired significantly negative trends. The trend of loss decline of agricultural subjects which started in the year 1993 changed to deeper loss in the year 1998. The general reason was a price disparity accompanied with lower subsidy support and consequences of bad climatic conditions. This with high price of credits resulted into lower investment activities and into worse flow of money and into permanent debt and insolvency. The losses were higher also in agricultural services and food production with the resulting negative consequences. The precondition of solving the problems in agriculture and food industry will be a consistent realisation of prepared Strategy of Agrarian and Food Policy up to the year 2005
