Study on karyotypes of three species of Ostreidae oysters, Crassostrea belcheri, C. gigas and Saccostrea commercialis

Chromosomes of Crassostrea belcheri, C. gigas and Saccostrea commercialis within the Ostreidae family were studied. The diploid chromosome number of each individual is 20 (2n), and the arm number is 40, which comprises 10 pairs of metacentric chromosomes in C. belcheri and C. gigas. While S. commercialis comprises 9 pairs of metacentric chromosomes and one pair of submetacentric chromosomes.
