Five native olive cultivars (Butko, Karasati, Kizilsati, Otur and Gorvela) are commonly grown in Artvin. With cv. Butko being more widely cultured. Flowering occured between mid-May and mid-June depending cultivars and years. Fruit weight ranged between 2.92-6.25 g. with Otur having the heaviest and, Gorvela having the smallest fruit size although seed size was vice versa. The fruit volume and leaf area ranged between 2.50-6.22 cm3 and 3.15-6.20 cm2 respectively. Oil content of fruit was found to be 25.0% in Butko, 26.7% in Gorvela, 26.8% in Otur, 28.6% in Kizil Sati, and 33.7% in Kara Sati
