[Economic and biological special features and breeding value of European black currant and red currant varieties under conditions of the western Forest-Steppe of Ukraine]

Large number of black currants and red currants of domestic and foreign breeding variety samples (correspondingly 340 and 111 ones) are studied. As a result, the most productive and competitive varieties of black currants and red currants are selected for intensive industrial planting. Up-to-date assortment of the varieties suggested is formed on their base and introduced in three regions of the western Forest-Steppe of Ukraine. Growing the varieties selected is found out to provide profitablity correspondingly 117-122 % and 119-147 % for black currants and red currants
