In the period of 1987-1992, machines for harvesting of beans such as subsoil cutter and mower have been included in the investigations. From threshing machines combine harvester "Zmaj-142" was tested, with different variants of adaptations of threshing devices (in variants A-D), equipped with pick-up devices. Investigations have been carried out with three varieties of beans: Biser, Galeb and Slavonski zuto-zeleni. Investigation have shown that a big improvement was achieved for the past period of 1970-1990, because the mechanization was considerably improved, and therefore the total losses were notably reduced. From the aspect of quality of the grain threshed, the best result was shown by the "Zmaj-142" combine harvester with the adaptation variant "D" (with the biggest adaptation level), in both varieties of beans investigated.
